Statement item not linking: preset commission type on a a product agreement

Your policy is already linked to a Product Agreement but it fails to link.

If you want to link a product number, but you get the following error message, it means that a Product Agreement for the specific product number is already set up, but it failed for one of the following reasons:

The second reason is that you have set a preset Commission Type for the specific Product Agreement.

In context, this is what the error will look like:

The important item to look out for is the Commission Type (it’s normally left empty, except if there is a specific reason for it to be filled in):


The solution:

Step 1: Deallocate all the statements containing this product number (by using the filter)

Step 2: Go to Product Agreements, select the Product, then Unlink this Product Agreement

Step 3: Click on the Pencil to open editing mode

Step 4: Open More Options, delete the Commission Type, then click Save

Step 5: The Commission Type field must now be empty

Step 6: Go back to Statements and Link the commission statements
