Where and how do I set my strategies in terms of limits?

This is part of our premium features package.

Where do I find it?

After your office has been activated for Client Segmentation, you will notice a new field in your office settings:

You’ll set up, run and control your Client Segmentation feature here.

Individual client segmentation vs group client segmentation: what’s the difference?

If you have any client groups already applicable to your office (or would still like to use Client Groups), such as family groups, employer groups etc., then you can also apply client segmentation to all your client groups, along with individuals.

Understanding where to begin

Effective Segmentation Date Range

This is the effective date range that will be used to perform client segmentation. It is based on the maximum number of segmentation months, the configured buffer months and whether there is sufficient revenue data. The available months depend on whether the earliest statement date of the office falls before or within the segmentation date range. If the earliest statement date falls after the segmentation date range, no automatic client segmentation can be performed due to insufficient data.

Buffer months

You can select your end date by setting your number of buffer months in “more options” (visible when collapsing the individual client segmentation strategy).

Setting the buffer months to zero will mean that your data is live - you are processing and segmenting in the same month. The default is 1 month (this means one month in arrears. E.g., process July segmentation in August).

Setting up your strategies

Set up your individual clients strategies by navigating to “Individual Client Segment Strategy”. You can set up strategies for both individual clients and client groups.

Your strategies will have two different types of limits:

Lower/Upper Limit

Blue

The monthly production per client dependant on what you input.

Effective Limits

Red

The effective limits, automatically calculated by using your yearly limits multiplied by the number of available segmentation months selected (Effective Segmentation Date Range).

You can add custom segments by clicking the "Add Segment" button or amend your current segments by editing them on the blue dotted line:

When updating the upper limit, the lower limit will automatically update to the same amount

Note: if the client's production is exactly your limit amount, it will fall into the next segment.

You can also rename your segments into your preferred categories. The most common names used are

  • Bronze, Silver and Gold

  • A Group, B Group and C Group

Activate this strategy by ticking the "Active" box.

Note: you will get an error if you activate the segmentation with less than one segment.

Run segmentation

  1. The “Run Segmentation” button will appear for use after you've set up your strategies., which allows you to run your segmentation manually whenever you need it to be refreshed.

  2. Alternatively, you can run your segmentation in your Clients tab.

  3. The segmentation will also run automatically every night.

Your client segmentation is now ready for reporting. 😊
