An agreement version is found within an agreement and is the split strategy linked to specific date ranges. Within one agreement, you are able to create multiple versions, each with its own valid from date.
Here's an example of when it would be applicable:
Adviser A has always earned 60%, but from 1 September 2023 going forward, he renegotiated his split to be 80%. Instead of creating an entirely new agreement, you can create a new version within his current agreement. Here’s what it would look like:
The first agreement version:
The new agreement version:
Thus, any statements imported after 1 September 2023 that contain products linked to this agreement, will be allocated according to the new agreement version split strategy.
To set up a new Agreement Version go to Settings
Now you can go to Agreements and edit the Agreement you would like to add a version to
Click on + New Version
Select the Valid From date (date from which the new version will be applicable) and complete the Description. Once done, click on Next.
Note: If the Clone previous version tick is selected, the previous version split rules will show up which can then be edited. If the tick is not selected, new rules will need to be set up from scratch. Our recommendation: Keep the Clone previous version tick selected.
Click on the Edit button to edit the first rule
Change the Share percentage. Once done, click on Save.
You can now follow the same steps to change the remaining rules.
Once you are completely done with all the amendments, you can click on Save
Pro tip: To avoid any confusion, use a universal Description for the agreement. For example, the adviser’s name. When naming the versions, refer to the split percentages applicable to that version.
For example:
The agreement description will be “Adviser A”, but the agreement version description will be “Adviser A (80) | Business (20)”.
